Are you a Veteran of the Armed Forces currently being charged or investigated for a crime in Maricopa County?  If so, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has recently launched a diversion program scheduled to begin in April of 2022 to assist some Veterans in resolving their felony case without a criminal conviction. The length of the program and requirements for same will vary depending upon the Veteran’s needs.

While not all Veterans are eligible for the program, those who are eligible may receive services in the areas of cognition and behavioral intervention along with substance use/abuse services. If applicable to the case, the Veteran will also be required to pay restitution for any loss suffered by a victim (not to exceed $2000) before completion of the program. For those individuals who are unsuccessful in the program, the County will file a motion with the Court to reinstate prosecution against the Veteran.  More information on the program can be found here.
