Description: Yavapai County Superior Court: Ms. M.M. was convicted of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, a class four felony, and Resisting Arrest, a class six felony. Ms. M.M. was facing a possibility of either prison time or up to four (4) years of supervised probation with a possibility of up to twelve (12) months of jail as a term of probation. At Sentencing, Ms. M.M. received eighteen (18) months of supervised probation with no jail time. Ms. M.M. also received only 30 hours of community restitution although the prosecution had requested that the judge impose 240 hours of community restitution. Additionally, the Resisting Arrest class six felony conviction was modified to an undesignated felony, which allows for the felony to be designated a misdemeanor upon successful completion of probation and with court approval.
