State v. Mr. D.R. (2022)

Practice Area: Criminal Law / Possession of Dangerous Drugs/ Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Outcome: Dismissal of all charges

Description: Maricopa County Superior Court, State v. Mr. D.R.  Mr. D.R. was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a class 4 felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class 6 felony, for allegedly being found in possession of a small usable amount of methamphetamine and a pipe. The initial plea offer made by the State was to have Mr. D.R. plead to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class six undesignated felony, with a stipulation to be placed on supervised probation for a period of up to three years and to a possibility of up to twelve months of jail as a term of probation.

Through negotiation and a plea modification request, Castillo Law was able to secure a diversion agreement with the State wherein Mr. D.R. was able to participate in a treatment program outside of Maricopa County where he resides and received a full dismissal of the charges.
