Hi. My name is Cindy Castillo with Castillo Law. Today, I’d like to talk to you about Drug Crimes in the State of Arizona.

The State of Arizona has several different types of drug crimes and they fall into different drug categories. For example, you might be charged with possession of marijuana. In the State of Arizona you can be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony offense if you are possessing marijuana and you don’t have a marijuana card. In addition, you might received a drug charged for dangerous drugs. This is commonly known as methamphetamine, this is a class four felony in the State of Arizona, you might also have a drug charged for narcotic drugs.

Typically this is a heroin or some other form of narcotic drug, this is also a class four felony in the State of Arizona. Additionally, if you do not have a prescription for a drug let’s say for example you have a couple of vicodins in your pocket, this is also charged as a class four felony in the State of Arizona. The types of penalties for these crimes could include probation all the way up to depending on what your history is, some jail time and even prison time. The State of Arizona does offer a program known as task for some individuals who may qualify.

It’s very important that if you have been charged with one of these types of offenses that you contact an attorney and attorney can look at the reason that the officer found the drugs in your possession in the first place, and determine whether or not there was reasonable suspicion or probable cause for the arrest. Again, if you’ve been charged with one of these offenses it’s very important to speak with an attorney. I offer free consultations.
