Arizona Senate Bill 1070 also known as SB1070 or the Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act was signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer in April of 2010. This bill turned Arizona into a ‘Show me your papers state” by requiring law enforcement officers to request and review an individuals documentation if there is a reasonable suspicion that the individual is an illegal resident of the United States and therefore of Arizona.
