Description: Maricopa County Superior Court, State v. Mr. L.
Mr L. was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, a class two felony. The initial plea offer was to have Mr. L plead to a class two felony with a sentence of 3-5 years in prison. After the production of mitigation to the prosecutor, Castillo Law was able to negotiate to a reduced felony charge, a class three felony, and to less prison time, 2-3.5 years in prison. Under this new plea offer, the standard sentence, or presumptive sentence, is 3.5 years in prison. However, after the production of a written sentencing recommendation and an oral argument at Sentencing by Castillo Law, Mr. L received a slightly mitigated sentence of 2.75 years, with credit for time served.
