Description: Maricopa County, State v. Ms. V.  Ms. V. was charged with one count of Assisting a Criminal Street Gang, a Class 3 Felony, one count of Promoting Prison Contraband, a Class 2 Felony, and one count of Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a Class 4 Felony. Ms. V. was accused of sending her husband, a known gang member, methamphetamine through the mail while he was in prison. If convicted at trial, Ms. V. was facing mandatory prison time and her original plea offer required Ms. V. to serve 3.5 years in prison. Castillo Law Attorneys completed their investigation and provided mitigation to the State through a deviation request. As a result, Ms. V. was offered 6 months in jail with 3 years of probation.
