How to Post Bail

Cindy CastilloFAQs

  • In order to notify family members or friends of their arrest, inmates are given access to a telephone in order to place collect calls.
  • Questions regarding an inmate’s initial arrest should be directed to the arresting agency, if it can be done without doing further harm to the inmate’s case.
  • Bonds and fines may be paid at the Fourth Avenue Jail Bond & Fine room located at the north side of the building, 201 S 4th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85003.
  • Acceptable means of payment are a Cashier’s Check (official check), subject to verification, a U.S. Postal Money Order or a Western Union Money Order. These must be made out to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Method of payment is subject to change and should be checked before going to pay bonds.
  • After a bond is paid, it may take up to 48 hours for an inmate to be released.
  • If you have questions, you may call Sheriff’s Information Management Services at 602-876-0322.
  • Once a bond payment is accepted, there will be no refunds.
  • If inmates are housed at the Fourth Avenue Jail, they will be released there.
  • If inmates are housed at the Lower Buckeye Jail, the Durango Jail, the Estrella Jail, the Towers Jail or the Tents, they are released at the Lower Buckeye Jail.
