State v. Mr. JG (2016)

Practice Area: Criminal Law/ DUI

Date: 03/02/2016

Description: North Mesa Justice Court: JG was alleged to have committed a first time regular DUI, after driving home on Bush Highway at the end of a long day of tubing the Salt River. If found guilty, JG would have been required to serve jail time, install an ignition interlock device, complete alcohol  classes, and pay a fine. JG maintained his innocence throughout the pretrial litigation of his case. Ms. Castillo filed a pretrial motion arguing that officers had coerced JG to take their alcohol test. On the day of the hearing, the State offered JG a Reckless Driving plea offer. This prevented JG from having a DUI on his record.
